ConsentProof

Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and WANG WENJIE, the operator of ConsentProof. The two that matter most are short enough to state here: you may only scan websites you own or are authorised to audit, and a scan result is evidence about what a browser observed — not legal advice and not a certificate of compliance.

Effective 2026-09-07

1. The agreement

By running a scan, creating an account or paying for a plan you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an agency or a company, you confirm you may bind it. ConsentProof is operated by WANG WENJIE; "we" and "us" mean that operator, and "you" means the person or organisation using the service.

2. Acceptable use — whose sites you may scan

Pointing a real browser at somebody else's website is a normal thing for a browser to do, and an abnormal thing to do a thousand times. This clause is the line between the two.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks this clause, and we will say why. Public scanning is limited to 3 scans per IP per day and 1 scan per site per hour so that one person cannot make the free tier expensive for everybody else.

3. What the service is, and what it is not

ConsentProof loads a page in a real browser, records which cookies were set and which third-party hosts were contacted before a visitor consented, clicks the consent banner, reloads, records the same things again, and stores both captures with a timestamp and a hash. That is the whole of what it claims to do.

You remain responsible for your own compliance and for the decisions you take after reading a report.

4. Accounts and seats

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been compromised.

PlanMonitored sitesFastest scheduleEvidence historySeats included
Free3Manual7 days1
Pro25Weekly90 days2
Agency50Daily365 days5 (extra seats $5/seat/month)

The limits above are enforced in the product, not merely described here. On the Free plan alerts are recorded against your sites but not delivered by email or Slack; the records stay visible in the app.

5. Plans, billing and trial

14-day free trial on Agency. No card required — we ask for one when the trial ends, and nothing is charged before then.

If you add no card, the workspace drops to Free when the trial ends. Nothing is charged automatically.

Payments are taken by Stripe. A failed payment does not immediately remove your access: a subscription that is past due keeps its entitlements while the card is retried, because cutting a customer off before their bank has finished trying is worse for both of us.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, without asking us and without a retention call. Go to Account, choose Manage billing, and cancel in the Stripe customer portal. The same portal is where you change plan, change card, download invoices and add seats.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for, and the workspace then drops to Free — sites above the Free limit stop being scanned rather than being deleted, and evidence outside the Free retention window is pruned by the nightly job.

7. Refunds

We refund the first payment on a new subscription in full if you ask within 14 days. No form and no reason required — email the address at the bottom of this page from the account address.

The full policy, including renewals, seat charges and how long a refund takes to arrive, is on the refund policy page.

8. Your data and your evidence

Your sites, scans and reports are yours. We store and process them to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy, and we do not sell them, share them with advertisers or use them to train models.

We may report aggregate, de-identified statistics about consent behaviour across the whole service — for example how often a given tracker fires before consent across all scans. Such figures never identify an account, a workspace or a customer's client.

White-label reports on the Agency plan may carry your own logo and colours with our attribution removed. You are responsible for what you tell your own clients on the strength of them.

9. Availability

The service is provided as-is and as-available. We do not offer a service-level agreement, and scheduled scans depend on infrastructure we do not own. If a scheduled scan does not run, the evidence for that day is simply missing — it is not reconstructed after the fact, because evidence that was never captured cannot be manufactured later.

We may change or withdraw features. If we withdraw something you are paying for, we will tell account holders by email before it happens.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or regulatory fines or penalties imposed on you or on your clients.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. Material changes are emailed to account holders before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. The effective date at the top of the page is the date of the current wording.
